Bundesbank's Dombret draws lessons from European CMU for Asia
As Europe constructs its capital markets union, it could offer relevant lessons for Asian economies, Dombret says
The lessons Europe learns from constructing a capital markets union (CMU) "may be of interest for the Asian economies" as they look to finance infrastructure projects, the Deutsche Bundesbank's Andreas Dombret said during a speech at the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank on May 3.
While development banks will "play an important role" in financing the additional demand for infrastructure in Asia, Dombret said additional funding – some from outside Asia – might be needed.
