IMF paper offers advice on Asian financial integration

Authors suggest policies to improve regional integration

Research published by the IMF has found that while financial integration in Asia has improved, it remains relatively low.

In the working paper Drivers of Financial Integration – Implications for Asia, the authors suggest a range of possible solutions. Integration is being held back by informational asymmetries, barriers to foreign banks, and differences in the quality of regulations and institutions.
