Bank of Botswana laments productivity ‘constraint’

Central bank calls for more efficient public service provision

The Bank of Botswana stressed the importance of improving productivity in the country's economy on May 25 – pointing to a range of responses including educational reform, financial inclusion and more efficient public service provision.

"In pursuing economic reforms to spur further development, the pressing need is to ease those constraints that are considered most binding on the economy," the central bank said, in its latest annual report.
