Central banks widely exploring RTGSs’ interoperability with CBDCs

High income institutions more likely to research the issue than their middle income counterparts

A majority of institutions are conducting research into the gaps between central bank digital currencies and domestic real-time gross settlement systems (RTGSs), data from the Fintech Benchmarks 2025 reveals.
