Bank of Italy slims down organisational structure
The Bank of Italy will move to a "more streamlined and compact" organisational structure on January 27 that will see "a number of decision-making processes" devolved from the governing board to eight consolidated directorates-general (DGs).
This marks the culmination of a five-year plan that has seen the central bank cut its staff by around 10%. According to Central Bank Directory 2014, the Bank of Italy reduced its staff roster from 7,700 in 2008 to 6,982 in 2013.
