Ukraine picks central banker as finance minister: reports

Yurri Kolobov, first deputy governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, has been appointed as finance minister, according to local media reports.

An employee of the central bank expressed surprise that the announcement has yet to be made official after two brief statements relating to the former finance minister appeared on the Finance Ministry's website. The first revealed the dismissal of Valeriy Khoroshkovskyi from the ministerial post and the second announced his appointment as first deputy
