Cleveland Fed paper measures impact on education of late school joiners
Earlier entrance cutoff dates to education and an earlier birth date increases the achievement of children at school, according to a Cleveland Federal Reserve paper published on Friday.
Dionissi Aliprantis, the paper's author, uses a sample of data from the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, one of the first national studies on early childhood development, to estimate the effects delayed entrance to school and relative age at entry have on children's achievement levels.
