Draghi encouraged by Baffi’s reign at central bank

Mario Draghi, the governor of the Bank of Italy, on Monday highlighted the contributions made by Paolo Baffi to the Bank of Italy during his time as governor.

At the launch of Baffi's new book entitled Studies on Money at the Italian Science Academy in Rome, Draghi spoke of his legacy at the central bank where he was governor from 1975 to 1979.

Draghi said Baffi was governor of the central bank at a time of great difficulty for the Italian economy, when the sudden rise in oil prices caused
