Sweden’s Ingves draws roadmap to macroprudential mandate

Stefan Ingves, the governor of the Riksbank, on Tuesday said the governance and accountability of macroprudential agencies would be crucial to their success.

Mandate
The objectives of macroprudential policy, tools available to the agency, and the interaction of macroprudential and other public policy should be spelled out clearly, Ingves said. There should be no ambiguity about what the agency can do and the expectations of it should be in line with what it can achieve, which in turn would help
