King named vice chair of European Systemic Risk Board
Mervyn King, the governor of the Bank of England, was on Thursday elected as the first vice-chair of the European Systemic Risk Board.
The general council of the European Central Bank (ECB), which comprises the members of the ECB's executive board and the governors of all of the European Union (EU) central banks, elected the governor of the Bank.
King was expected to be named the deputy of Jean-Claude Trichet, who as ECB president must chair to body according to the legislation governing it. The
