SMEs profitability declining: ECB survey

Euro sign, Frankfurt

The profitability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) deteriorated further in the six months to September, but at a slower pace than before, a European Central Bank (ECB) survey published on Friday said.

The report, which gave evidence on the financial situation, financing needs and access to financing of SMEs in the eurozone from March to September, said the number of SMEs reporting increases, decreases or no change in turnover was roughly the same as in the previous six months.
