Yilmaz: Turkish economy booming
Durmuş Yilmaz, the governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, on Saturday said year-on-year growth in Turkey for the second quarter of 2010 rose to double digits, equaling China's growth of 10.3% for the same quarter.
Yilmaz said the recovery in Turkey was private-sector driven and broad based, and that the economy showed no signs of overheating. Headwinds from food prices were likely to be transitory, as core inflation remained subdued and inflation expectations stable, he said.
