Chile’s De Gregorio praises economic recovery from earthquake

José De Gregorio, the governor of the Central Bank of Chile, on 8 September said temporary and permanent factors helped the Chilean economy bounce back from the earthquake on 27 February.

"Despite the context of an increasingly uncertain global economy, Chile has continued to show significant growth rates, has reduced unemployment and has advanced in repairing the damages caused by the earthquake and tsunami that hit us last February," De Gregorio said.
