Bundesbank – Monthly Report (January)

Germany's recovery in the final quarter of last year slowed down, with domestic economic activity having a "retarding influence", according to the Bundesbank's monthly report for January. Weak retail sales, a drop in motor vehicle registrations and a decline in household expenditure were all facets of the dampening effect domestic activity had.

The report noted that fixed capital formation had not helped this, and said any positive effects from inventory adjustment would have eased off
