Bank of Italy – Economic Bulletin January 2010

The Italian economy should expand by 0.7% this year and accelerate to 1% in 2011, according to the latest Economic Bulletin from the country's central bank, published last Friday.

The bulletin noted that the domestic components of demand are likely to make only a minor contribution to growth over the next two years. It also showed that the main support for the recovery will come from foreign demand. This had often been the case in similar phases of recent business cycles, the central bank said
