How Australia hedges

This paper from Australia's central bank examines foreign exchange hedging behaviour in the country since it adopted a floating exchange rate regime.

Australia's net foreign liability position and the possibility of exchange rate depreciation is often cited as a vulnerability of the Australian economy. The authors however do not support this view as much of the liability position is denominated in local currency terms.
