Central Bank of Cyprus - Annual Report 2006
In 2006, the Central Bank of Cyprus intensified its preparatory work for the adoption of the euro, which will become the country's currency on 1 January 2008.
The central bank's prudent monetary and exchange rate policies readied the economy for eurozone membership. It also made good progress with the euro cash changeover plan, published in June 2006.
