Kazakhstan turns again to Marchenko
Marchenko, who was governor from October 1999 until January 2004, re-joins the central bank a week after the central bank was forced to readjust the tenge's peg to the dollar following a devaluation of its currency.
The term of Saidenov Anvar Gallimullaevich, the previous governor, had a year to run, but Almaty opted to cut it short, with state media saying that he would move to another unspecified job.
