ECB report on interest rate differences

The European Central Bank published a report on differences in MFI interest rates across euro area countries on 20 September. In the report the ECB said interest rates charged by banks vary widely between euro zone countries.

"Despite the remarkable convergence that has taken place in the euro area in recent years, similar types of interest rate still vary considerably across countries," it said.

In a report on differences in rates in euro zone countries, the ECB said the variations may result
