IMF's Deppler suggests German economic coalition

In an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, IMF European Department Director Michael C. Deppler said that a grand coalition would be best suited for determining a single economic policy in Germany.

According to him, Social Democrats and Christian Democrats should not surprise the public by repeatedly changing their economic strategy. Be it the liberal or the Scandinavian model of a market economy, as long as it is consistent it will work, said Mr Deppler. He argues that the job market
