Fed's Ferguson on the importance of education

In the speech 'The importance of education' given on 24 February Roger Ferguson of the Federal Reserve said an educated U.S. labour force is vital for economic health and prosperity.

"An educated workforce is a must if our economy is to continue to enjoy significant gains in productivity and living standards," Ferguson, who this week announced he will leave the Fed in late April, told a Black History Month event at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.

He said a college degree
