Lacker stands tall in the Fed's inflation fight

According to this article published Friday 13 October by Bloomberg, Jeffrey Lacker, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, is the nation's inflation vigilante.

"The last two times the Federal Reserve's policy committee met, Lacker, 51, wanted to increase the U.S. basic interest rate charged on overnight loans between banks," the article says.

"Lacker says that if inflation were to take a leap, the interest rates needed to bring it back down would cause significant harm to the economy."
