WAMZ members commit to single currency

According to this article from This Day, published Tuesday 2 January, West African Monetary Zone member countries have expressed commitment to move forwards to a single monetary zone by 2009.

"Member countries have further agreed to cross-border listing of stocks and securities in the WAMZ to be implemented not later than December 2006. By December 2007, member countries are also expected to be implementing the Common External Tariff."

However, since 2001, some member countries have been falling
