Bank Negara voted best central bank

Bank Negara Malaysia has been voted as the Best Central Bank in the Islamic Finance news 2006 Best Islamic Banks Poll.

In a statement on Wednesday, Islamic Finance news said Bank Negara received more than half the registered votes in the category. The Central Bank of Bahrain took the runner-up spot, it said.

It said a record total of 1,232 votes were cast in the 31 contested categories in the poll. A total of 1,089 votes were counted towards the final results.
