Kazakhstan joins mBridge project

NBK joins cross-border CBDC project as an observer

The National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) has joined the Bank for International Settlements-led mBridge project, the National Payment Corporation of Kazakhstan revealed on August 25.

The national provider of payments systems and digital financial infrastructure reported Kazakhstan has joined the cross-border central bank digital currency (CBDC) initiative in its weekly news round-up. A spokesperson for the BIS said Kazakhstan had joined the project as one of several observer countries.
