Self-employment fuelled labour recovery, says Central Bank of Chile paper
A Central Bank of Chile paper published on December 23 finds evidence that suggests self-employment has played a key role in the labour market in Chile in the past 15 years.
Gonzalo Castex and Miguel Ricaurte, the paper's authors, analyse the impact of changes in institutional labour market conditions, such as access to financing and efficiency, on the composition of employment and unemployment, considering the nature of formal labour contracts and the entrepreneurial capacity of the labour
