National Bank of Hungary - 2007 Annual Report

The National Bank of Hungary initiated several major changes in 2007 in order to enhance the quality and efficiency of the money supply.

These included:

· the withdrawal from circulation of the old 1000 forint banknotes with fewer and less sophisticated security features;

· preparation for the withdrawal of the 1 and 2 forint coins;

· the modification the central bank's business terms and logistics-related requirements; and

· the closure of the central bank's two remaining cash distribution
