Martin Schlegel becomes new chairman of SNB

Antoine Martin becomes Swiss National Bank vice-chair and Petra Tschudin joins board

The federal council of Switzerland appointed Martin Schlegel as the new chairman of the governing board of the Swiss National Bank (SNB), it announced on June 26.

The council also promoted Antoine Martin to be the board’s vice-chairman and named Petra Tschudin as its third member. All three will began their work on October 1.

Schlegel is succeeding Thomas Jordan at the helm, who is retiring after more than 12 years in his position.
