Borio and Zöllner to depart BIS in 2024

Two of the most senior officials at the Bank for International Settlements have announced they will retire in 2024.  

Claudio Borio, head of the monetary and economic department (MED), will leave the BIS at the end of the year, bringing to an end a career of more than 35 years at the institution. 

Peter Zöllner will step down as head of the banking department in May. Zöllner took up his current role in May 2013, a few months before Borio became head of MED. The BIS announced the two departures
