People: Novelist named to Honduras central bank board
SNB official retires next year; two new vice-presidents at ADB; and more
Honduras: President Xiomara Castro has appointed Julio Escoto to the board of the Central Bank of Honduras, the central bank reported on social media on September 28.
Escoto is a novelist and essayist. He has a master’s degree in Hispano-American literature from the University of Costa Rica, and taught at the Autonomous National University of Honduras. He won the Ramón Rosa National Literature Award in 1975.
At least two Honduran newspapers published articles arguing the central bank law
