People: Paraguay confirms governor appointment
Nicaragua gives governor five more years; Malaysia appoints deputy; and more
Paraguay: President Santiago Peña appointed Carlos Carvallo Spalding as governor of the Central Bank of Paraguay on August 31, after Carvallo was approved by the senate.
Peña announced he would appoint Carvallo on July 31 to succeed José Cantero Sienra, who had served as governor since 2018. The governor’s term corresponds to the five-year term of the president. Peña took office on August 15.
