Alwyn Jordan becomes Barbados central bank’s acting governor

Cleviston Haynes left central bank on January 31 as his term ended

The board of the Central Bank of Barbados named deputy governor Alwyn Jordan acting governor on February 1, a day after previous governor Cleviston Haynes’s term ended.

Jordan had been appointed deputy governor in October 2019, promoted from head of the central bank’s research department. He had previously held the same position at the Central Bank of the Bahamas.

He has a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from the University of the West Indies and a master’s in finance and
