People: Kuwait appoints first woman deputy governor

Kuwait: The Central Bank of Kuwait has appointed Sahar Al-Rumaih deputy governor, the first woman to hold the position. The government approved the appointment on September 5.
Al-Rumaih worked at the Commercial Bank of Kuwait between 1989 and 2021, and was deputy CEO between 2018 and 2020. She then worked in the corporate banking division at Al Ahli Bank between October 2021 and September 2022.
She succeeds Yousef al-Obaid, who served from May 2012 to May 2022. The governor and deputy governor
