Israel adds new member to MPC; Swiss deputy governor will undergo heart surgery

Israel: The Israeli government has named Naomi Feldman, an academic economist, to the Bank of Israel’s monetary policy committee. Feldman is a professor of economics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Feldman holds a master’s and a PhD in economics from the University of Michigan, and has held academic appointments in both the US and Israel. Her website says she studies “how individuals and firms react to changes in tax policy”. She is particularly interested in the effects of the tax code
