Former prime minister joins Romanian central bank
Former PM and ex-lawmaker who supported governor’s reappointment are hired as consultants
Romania’s central bank has given paid consultancy roles to two prominent former politicians who supported the governor’s reappointment.
The National Bank of Romania (NBR) has said that it had hired Viorica Dǎncilǎ, prime minister from January 2018 to November 2019, as a consultant on “sustainability and green energy”. The central bank also hired Ioan Mircea Pașcu, a former defence minister and member of the European Parliament, as a consultant in its geopolitics department.
