People: Elderson approved as vice-chair of ECB supervisory council

Frankfurt: Frank Elderson has been approved as vice-chair of the European Central Bank’s supervisory board.

The governing council of the ECB nominated Elderson back in December. His appointment was subject to the approval of the European Parliament.

Elderson succeeds Yves Mersch, whose term ended on December 14 in tandem with his position on the ECB’s executive board. The vice-chair of the supervisory board must be a member of the executive board.
