Influential British parliamentarian Andrew Tyrie has revealed he is stepping down after 20 years in politics.

“After very careful thought, I have decided to stand down from parliament,” Tyrie said in a statement today (April 25). The Conservative MP has for many years been chair of the Treasury Committee, playing a major role in scrutinising post-crisis reforms and holding the Bank of England (BoE) to account.
