Georgian parliament approves president’s nominee for governorship
Georgia: Koba Gvenetadze, former deputy finance minister and International Monetary Fund employee, will become the next governor of the country's central bank if he receives formal approval from the board on March 7.
Nominated by the president, he was narrowly approved by parliament, with 81 of 150 parliamentarians voting in favour of his appointment. He is now a member of the board of the central bank, but must be elected by his colleagues as governor. He could be confirmed by March 9, a
