Bank of Portugal warns against fake news of ‘Ronaldo coin’
Central bank denies speculation about commemorative coin featuring famous footballer
The Bank of Portugal has released a statement denying online rumours that it would issue a commemorative coin featuring footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
The central bank issued a press release yesterday (January 2) on the speculation. It said the “fake news” about a €7.50 collector coin featuring the footballer were released by “foreign websites”.
“The [Bank of Portugal] hereby clarifies that it has not issued, nor is planning to issue, any collector or commemorative coins honouring this public
