Kenya’s central bank opens new currency centre

New facility will improve currency circulation within the region, president Kenyatta says

The Central Bank of Kenya has opened a new currency centre to improve the circulation of banknotes across the country.

President Uhuru Kenyatta unveiled the new facility in the town of Kisii on October 21. According to a statement from the president’s office, the new facility will “ease circulation of currency in the South Nyanza region by eliminating the logistics of transporting money from Kisumu”.
