Established in May 1992. The main tasks of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan involve:
• the implementation of effective integrated state monetary policy;
• organisation of the circulation of cash; support to effective functioning of the settlement and payment system;
• organisation of the banking regulation and banking supervision;
• maintaining price stability;
• safeguarding the interests of lending institutions’ creditors and depositors;
• combating the legalisation of criminal proceeds
