Bundesbank's Buch pinpoints importance of impact studies for macro-pru policy
Buch emphasises the usefulness of impact studies for macro-prudential policy
Impact studies are an "important tool" for evaluating the efficacy of macro-prudential policies, vice-president of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Claudia Buch, said on September 7, arguing they should be conducted if such policies are "activated in the future".
In a speech given at the annual meeting of the Verein für Socialpolitik, Buch noted "we still don't know all that much about the impact of macro-prudential policy measures right now" as the available evidence is "very sparse".
