Authors find 'large changes' in distribution of wealth
Germany's low rate of home ownership is contributing to the uneven distribution of wealth in the country, new research by the Deutsche Bundesbank has found.
Published today (June 19), The pattern of home ownership across cohorts and its impact on the net wealth distribution, by Arthur Alik-Lagrange and Tobias Schmidt, fits a US-style home ownership structure to the German economy. The rate of ownership is just 44% in Germany, which the authors observe is one of the lowest in the developed world
