Nowotny considers ‘human costs’ of structural reform
National Bank of Austria governor challenges economists to think about quality of economic growth
National Bank of Austria governor Ewald Nowotny urged economists to consider the "human costs" of structural reform when considering how to improve long-run growth in the eurozone today (June 15).
Nowotny delivered the introductory remarks at the 43rd Economic Conference at the Austrian central bank – held on the theme of "long-term perspective for economic growth" – during which he confronted the attendees with two questions.
