Fed's Plosser on the benefits of education

Education is critical to the long-run well-being of our economy and everyone who participates in it, said Charles Plosser, the president of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve.

"Education enhances our productivity and raises living standards. It enables consumers and businesses to make more informed and thus better decisions and choices - improving the broader economy in the process," said Plosser, adding that the responsibility for education rests with both the authorities and individuals.
