BoE's Sentance on the changing pattern of savings

In the speech 'The changing pattern of savings: Implications for growth and inflation' given on 15 March Andrew Sentance of the Bank of England warned of possible inflationary risks from strong consumer spending levels.

The conditions which ensured strong consumption growth alongside low inflation in the past may not be sustained into the future, he said in the lecture.

"Global conditions may not be so benign, and unemployment is now much closer to its equilibrium rate than it was in the mid-1990s
