Uribe charts Colombia's progress

Bilateral trade agreements are allowing Colombia to profit more from globalisation, according to Jose Dario Uribe, the governor of the Banco de la Republica, Colombia.

Uribe said: "Headway is being made in integrating us further with world trade through various means, one of the most important being bilateral trade agreements."

A strong monetary and financial framework has, according to the governor, meant Colombia can "better absorb changes in the international economy."

But Uribe admitted that
