Chilean cb's study of sovereign debt in Americas

This paper contains the first comprehensive database on sovereign debt systematically compiled to ensure comparability for all countries in the Americas, the authors claim.

This new data is used to highlight the main stylised facts regarding sovereign debt for developing America in the last two decades. The results show that debt ratios in developing America are comparable to those in developed countries and have remained stable since the late 1990s. The composition of debt in the region
