Research department split at Central Bank of Malta

Economic forecasts and quantitative research separated

The economic and research team at the Central Bank of Malta was split in two last year, to allow for greater specialisation, according to its latest annual report.

The central bank now operates with an economic and monetary analysis department that focuses on economic forecasts and monetary policy issues, and a modelling and research department concentrated on quantitative research, including the maintenance and revision of the central bank's econometric models
