The United States' economic recovery slowed in the six weeks to 8 October, particularly in housing, the Federal Reserve's latest Beige Book, out Wednesday, said.

The report, prepared by the Dallas Federal Reserve, said most districts reported the housing market in the United States remained weak. Overall home sales were sluggish or declining, with most districts reporting sales below the levels of a year previous. The report said home prices were generally stable compared to September, although
